Mongolian Short Ribs
Ingredients:
Braising Liquid:
1/4 cup Hoisin sauce
2 cup water
2 tbsp Garlic
1 and 1/2 tbsp Sambal oelek
1 and 1/2 tbsp Soy Sauce
1/4 cup Honey
2lb Beef short ribs
Chinese Five Spice
Salt and Pepper
Season beef with Chinese Five Spice, salt and pepper. Heat skillet over medium heat. Sear beef on all sides until beef is golden brown. Allow about 2 minutes per side.
While beef is searing combine all ingredients for braising liquid.
Once beef is finished, place in braising pan, add liquid and cover with tight fitting lid. Place in preheated 350 degree oven for 1 hour. Check for tenderness and continue cooking for an additional half hour if necessary.
