Spend some time with man's best friend this weekend at the 4th Annual Dog Days and Pooch Parade in Medford. It all starts with a parade at 9 AM, where dogs and owner can strut their stuff. Afterward get ready to smile, as dogs compete for the title of best dressed, most unusual looking, and there's even a dog-owner look alike contest. Following the show, doggy paddle with your pooch in Hawthorne Pool. Dogs of all sizes are welcome to hop in and cool off, even owners are encouraged to hop in as well.

School may be back in session, but the weekend is full of fun ways to spend some free time outdoors, and you don't have to travel far. This Saturday Scienceworks in Ashland is hosting a free National Parks Family Day. The event is designed to introduce and educate locals about the parks around our area. Check out booths with hands-on activities for the kids.
